inspiring youngsters
|
FORTY members of the junior section of Mosborough RUFC and their coaches received the Rugby Football Union Seal of Approval and Sport England's Club Mark awards for their mini and youth section. Coun Gail Smith and RFU Sheffield community rugby coach, Alan Treloar, presented the awards to junior coaches Shaun Andrews and John Staton. Awards go to clubs who meet the highest standards in providing a 'safe, effective and child friendly environment.'
Junior section president Les Newman said: "This is a reward for all the hard work put in by dedicated coaches Shaun and John who have worked tirelessly over the last five years to see the junior section grow after it was initially set up by Arnie Hattersley and Mark Evans"
Six of the original junior team, now aged 21 or 22, regularly play in the club's first team.
